I Woke Up And My Ankle Hurts

The charm of Koh Chang

Like many travelers, I have a weakness for the charms of the islands. Each island is like a little world unto itself, cut off from everything, we can explore thoroughly. We went around (literally), we learn to know the places peaceful views, small nice restaurants, places to party, markets and shops.

In Thailand, I lived in Koh Samui and Phuket. I also visited Koh Tao, Koh Phangan and Koh Lanta in the south. Living in Bangkok, I escape the weekend to see the sea where possible. I just came back to visit Koh Chang for the first time and I must say that this island has a special charm. Maybe this is the fact that we are not yet the tourist season, but everything was so calm and serene.

motorbikes, almost no traffic on the roads, only after the arrival of a ferry. If one goes to the east of the island, the road is lined with trees, the mountains rise in the mist on our right as the water comes to our left.

For backpackers, near Lonely Beach are heavenly. There are many cheap bungalows. Those who want more luxury and comfort can also find more hotels in Koh Chang at attractive rates. Several resorts are currently under construction on the island, but the pace is not yet alarming. Visit Koh Chang absolutely before it's too late!

What Colours Go Well With Walnut Furniture

The triple system of prices in Thailand Travel Tips

is a recurring theme in Thailand: prices, prices that fluctuate depending on the color of the face, according to the portfolio, by language spoken. It is not uncommon to get on a bus, talking to other foreigners who come to the same place and realize that everyone has paid a different rate.

In Thailand, there is a triple system of prices. First there is the tourist price, whichever is greater, that the Thais shamelessly ask those who speak only English. A T-shirt? 250 baht. There then the price of the expatriate, at least from abroad who is doing with the language. A T-shirt? 200 baht. "Lot noi dai na May Krabi?" Ok, I finally get to 130 baht. Finally, there Thai prices for Thai people. A T-shirt? 60 baht.

This system of price discrimination is quite a reality in Thailand and it is not going to change. When it comes to pay her food more than a 5 baht Thai, this is not the end of the world nor a reason to make a big deal, but when it comes to negotiating the price of housing, for example, 2000 baht per month, it enrages.

Tips So. In all cases, hide yourself and send a Thai who you absolute confidence to negotiate the price. Once you know the real price, make the purchase. If you are alone or you do not know of Thais trustworthy, learn the basics of Thai to negotiate, that is to say some numbers and expressions like "Peng law jang" (too expensive). First try to make people laugh Thais before playing the role of serious businessman. If the price is still too high, say "I'll think about it" and begin to move away from the store quietly. You should hear the price down ...

Ovary Pain During Ovulation

Hello. Not much new in the capital. The price of the curry did not increase, women are always beautiful, office buildings grow in the horizon and seem to compete for the few rays of sunshine which is making its passage through the smog and gray clouds.

I went for a ride to Phuket for business this weekend. You will not be surprised to learn that I preferred to take the bus because of the plane crash last week. Sixteen-hour bus ride is long. In return the driver decided to take a Thai horror film on the screen. Very bloody. Perfect for children before bedtime. Anyway, I found a small article on the net that I share with you.

bottled Luggage: Agoda advice on the transport of liquids

With more and more airports that adopt more stringent regulations on the transport of liquids, Agoda.fr , a website that specializes in booking hotels in Asia, decided it was time to look at why and how of security hand luggage.

transport of liquids on planes has become a complicated and not very clear. Especially because there are disparities between the airport regulations. Most countries thus prefer "safe than sorry" by taking precautions that are aligned with international safety standards.

The banning of certain products liquids on planes began in 2006 after a terrorist attack on transatlantic aircraft involving a large detonation of liquid explosives had failed. Immediately after the incident, new regulations prohibiting the transport of liquids and aerosols in the aircraft were taken. Most of these regulations are still in force today and the majority of airports follow the American administration for the Transportation Security (CAS).

According to regulations of the CAS, the basic rules are: all liquids in containers larger than 100ml are not allowed on airplanes except for baby food (milk included) and medical prescriptions. The products most commonly banned are products everyday as water, butane lighters, hair gel, and lotions, perfume, toothpaste, lotions and all kinds of products liquids. Only liquids in containers of less than 100 ml can be brought on board. These containers must be contained in one transparent bag having a capacity not exceeding one liter.

The main Asian airports, the most recent of the world, that of Suvarnabhumi in Thailand, following U.S. safety standards. For many travelers in Southeast Asia, particularly in Bangkok, these new regulations were a surprise.

Thus, to avoid losing your precious products, Agoda.fr offers some tips to prepare for takeoff:

• Before you pack, make a list and highlight your products prohibited in carry-on (go on Site travelinsider for advice or on the CAS website for a brochure).

• Put your cosmetics in a carry-save rather than in your hand luggage.

• When you purchase products on duty-free ", check with vendors how they should be packaged and what regulations apply once you have opened.

• When you take your need for beauty in your hand luggage, be sure that products do less than 100ml and is packaged in a bag with zipper. It is convenient to buy beauty products to travel to avoid the hassle of packing each product. To travel with class, try Khiel travel kits for men or beauty kits Ren Lamer or cream for women.

How To Establish Business Contacts

plane crash Phuket - Ad requiem

I stayed with me all day yesterday. The sky was gray, with rain and thunder was almost rattle the windows of my condo. This morning, the motorcycle taxi wonder 20 baht before I am seated. As the normal price to get to the subway is 13 baht, I take offense a little, thinking it must be new in the neighborhood and he thinks to be a bit more money with a stranger. I told him " sip baht Sat kab " and he replied " Touam nam. I do not know that word, but I understand very quickly when he turns the corner and I see it transformed into a small river. I lift my feet not to wet my shoes and prepares my twenty baht.

For 123 passengers to Phuket, the effects of rain have been much more dramatic. You've probably all read in newspapers or on TV. At last, we spoke of 87 dead and 43 wounded, mostly foreigners, but Thais. It makes you think when you've already made the same journey by plane. To all friends and all the families of the victims, I offer my deepest condolences.

Can U Get Herpies From Dog

Contemporary Art in Bangkok

You live in the City of Angels, you've seen the countless temples, sumptuous malls of Siam, Chinatown, sailed on the Chao Praya played endless hours of pool, diverse wildlife viewing Khao San Road and drank gallons of beer Chang in bars. Saturday, day off. What to do?

I suggest you take a little trip to the National Gallery in Bangkok, an art gallery modest but nonetheless interesting. Permamente in the exhibition, you can also see a painting of King Rama IX (the present king). It was painted in the 60s and looks like Alfred Pellan for those who know. Very colorful and ... abstract.

Until 28 September you can admire the paintings of young Thai artists, an exhibition which will tour various provinces. Artworks (paintings, sculptures) are very original. For a brief moment, it looks like a mini Pompidou Centre. The National Gallery is located between the Royal Palace and Khao San Road, the artery to Chao Fa The cost of entry is only 30 baht for foreigners and 10 baht for Thais. If it is hot, enjoy the air conditioning!

Free Vespa Et4 Service Manual

tracks or subway

Small bracket literature. As I take the subway every day, I read a few pages on the way to avoid watching commercials alienating. Last week I finished reading "The Beach " Alex Garland, the book that inspired the Hollywood movie of the same title. Frankly, I have not even seen the movie because I do not like the face of Di Caprio. Anyway, the film is officially banned from broadcasting on Thai because we see drug dealers and that it does not give a good image for good little tourists. There are all pirated DVDs on street corners, but it was quite legal ...

The book? Entertaining. The story of a young British backpacker named Richard who, during his first days in Bangkok near Khao San Road, is given a map to a legendary beach, a paradise known of the chosen few only. He is joined by a French couple. After a short trip to Koh Samui, a short boat ride and a good dose of swimming, they could reach the beach itself which hosts multiple (mis) adventures. I leave you to read this book. Nothing too removing, but it will fill idle time in the subway or on the beach.

In fact, if anyone knows a good bookstore in Bangkok where you can find anything but thrillers and The Da Vinci Code, let me know! Books intellectuals do not fill the shelves here.

Put The Camera Up Inside Of Me

Mysteries of waay

Know salute properly is probably one of the most important things to learn in a foreign country. Indeed, a simple gesture and a simple word can completely change the way your partner will react. Thailand is no exception to this rule. Foreigners living in salute to the language of the country will get better service, better information and ... better prices too!

Wave in Thailand is both a word and gesture. To say "hello" a man must say "krap Sawatdii ," a woman " Sawatdii kha", the last particle of politeness marking a bit like the French "vous". In pronouncing the sentence (do you practice), we must the waay, that is to say, join hands, stand in front of her face and tilt your upper body slightly forward. With a smile and as a tourist, this should suffice for your stay.

If you live in Thailand, some additional information are not negligible. First, the height of waay . You greet a child? Bring your hands to your chest. You greet a subordinate? Bring hands up to your mouth. Someone of your social status? At your nose. You greet a monk or a superior? At the height of your eyes. For King, above your head. In all cases, the best way to learn Thais is to observe them.

That said, we are in 2007 (2550 of the Buddhist era) and new generations do not always follow the customs of yesteryear. Taking waay to people in their twenties can make them smile if you're a tourist, but the "old felt" in general. For friendly relations, just to say "krap sawatdii " or "kha . With that, goodbye!
