Opening Vs House listening
A few days, it will be a year that had the last room listening. Too long for my taste. Some are still angry with us for the chaotic distribution of this CD Pop & Oriental evening. But now is the time to fix it.
This new listening room [2] looks like a painting. The evening's theme is "The body revealed."
one hand, we have the great honor to present the painting of Stephen Lengrand. It's a bit like a media preview for Etienne Lengrand not yet knighted by a gallery (although he had offers), a unique opportunity to see the painting of this painter trained by the Academy of Wavre . You want to pin the patience with which he built up his expertise. The strength of his subjects is matched only by the mystery he manages to extract. I resist the temptation to say too much. My meager computer skills prevent me from sending you digital photos of his works (photographs, they are far from top). On this one, I tell you: "Trust me".
On the other hand, you've chosen the music in perfect harmony with the body painting of Stephen Lengrand. I am happy for you to choose a selection of music that will emphasize the fragility of our bodies, the difficulty of discovering and vulnerability of one who dares to show it. As each time it will be 45 minutes of music available to your contextualized listening.
To discover the "Bodies Revealed", we chose a place at the height of the subject. The Bunker Movie Theatre is a former film development laboratory (for cinema). The dirty side strengthen the sense of unease. The place looks precarious. The label Kraak Ghent-3 to 4 times per year organizes concerts of adventurous music. In addition, Patrice, the owner, gives us the opportunity to use the real theater seats it has.
-Evening with Jacques Rancière at Bozar the 21-11-2007: the fourth and final lecture of the cycle in the folds of this organized by our friend Ivana Momcilivic.
