Holidays! At each door

"Ah, finally the holidays!"

We say the same thing when you live in America or Europe, but the meaning is quite different here in Thailand. Many large companies grant only six days of vacation the first year of employment, 12 days during the second year and a few more days after each additional year. Stop dreaming especially not get 2 months of vacation per year!

Yes, there are holidays, there are 15 or 16 usually based on the Buddhist calendar. On December 24? On December 25? Normal days. On the Job It must be said that the majority of days off from sick leave. A maximum of 30 per year. Just go to the clinic on the corner of sputter a bit, buy a few pills and get a medical paper we apologize to work. 100 baht for a holiday? Why not. Thais fall strangely ill on Friday or Monday ...

Anyway, tomorrow starts my real vacation. I leave early to go to Koh Chang again and spend five days. Read a novel on the beach, take a ride (half-circle) of the island by motorbike, 31, celebrate in style. To all I wish Merry Christmas!
